Kingston ArtsPrecinct

The Kingston Arts Precinct is the last major block on the Kingston Foreshore and an opportunity for a collection of projects. RepublicCommercial and Retail

To complement the Abode Belconnen’s 140 hotel rooms, 840+ residential apartments and observation deck, the Republic retail and commercial hub will include a grocer, bottle shop, cafe, bar and restaurant. Once complete, Republic will showcase Canberra’s tallest tower, and be a proud symbol of a growing, aspiring and dynamic capital city. GEOCON’s biggest project to date, Republic will be built in three stages over seven years from late 2017 and will employ 2500 workers over the life of the project.

West Block

Abode Group acquires the historic West Block buildings, formally designed by late architect John Smith Murdoch.

Along with Old Parliament House, the West Block buildings were one of the first structures built in Canberra and its sale marks the first private land ownership inside the parliamentary triangle.

Abode Group and Geocon will pay homage to the late architect and Canberra’s history by restoring and re-purposing the historic buildings to “the most famous hotel in Australia” – Nick Georgalis, Founder and Managing Director of Abode Group & Geocon.

The luxury five-star hotel offering at West Block will be designed by world-renowned architects, Fender Katsalidis with plans to be open before Christmas 2019.

Garema Centre

A new luxury hotel will be developed in the heart of Canberra’s CBD following Abode Group’s acquisition of the Garema Centre site at 70 Bunda Street.

The site is in close proximity to world-class shopping in the Canberra Centre and some of Canberra’s best restaurants, bars and attractions, and 300 metres from the light rail stop.

Garema Place will be one of the first of the new deluxe offerings the Group will bring to Canberra, and will deliver an international-standard luxury experience.
