As part of the Canberra District Wine Week, No. 10 Restaurant + Bar have partnered with Shaw Vineyard Estate to host an intimate wine dinner experience for 50 lucky guests. After recently introducing their new menu, No. 10 Restaurant + Bar thought it was perfect timing to showcase five very special Shaw Vineyard Estate wines carefully matched to five unique dishes that explore the best of local Autumn produce.
“Every dish has been tailored to excite and appeal to a range of people. This dinner will give the public a chance to experience not only one great dish, but five”, Head Chef Duncan Winter said.
Family owned and operated business, Shaw Vineyard Estate promise to bring a range of world class cool climate wines crafted from their vineyard with the local winemaker, Graeme Shaw, in attendance introducing his suite of wines to guests.
“I’m looking forward to the match of the Lamb and the Cabernet Sauvignon. Shaw’s Cabernet is renowned as one of the best in the region, often taking out awards. Cabernet is always late to ripen, and Graeme Shaw and his team always manage to get it right. The Lamb is really well suited to the Cabernet with a great weight match on the palate and an even better play on flavours with the cassis of the Cabernet working well with the richness of the lamb”. Head Chef Duncan Winter said.
No. 10 Restaurant + Bar’s Manager, Joseph Wagland said “I mainly go for weight and richness when matching food and wine. It’s kind of a simple approach. Light delicate food with light delicate wine. Heavy rich food with heavy rich wine. There’s plenty more to it, but working off this basic principal, I usually get a great match.” said Mr Wagland.
“We have received an overwhelming amount of great reviews since introducing the new menu, and are excited to continue changing the game by compiling this five-course degustation menu; something the Woden Valley has never seen before”, said Mr Wagland.
Located on 10 Bowes Street in Woden, the dinner will take place within the restaurant’s modern and intimate space on the 6th of April starting at 6:30pm.
Seats to the dinner are $100 per head and are strictly limited to 50. For more information on how to book visit no10shawvineyardwinedinner.eventbrite.com.au or number10restaurantandbar.com today. This event is expected to sell out quickly.
